Professional Background

Monica attended Oberlin College, where she majored in Politics. She was part of the Oberlin Law Scholars. Before entering law school, she interned in the Complex Business Litigation Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida in 2015. She later worked as Community Resource Specialist in the Family Court Division.

Monica earned her Juris Doctorate at University of California, Davis School of Law in 2021. During law school, she was a member of the Flores Settlement Agreement team. She assisted in a federal class action advocating for unaccompanied minors in detention centers. She also was the Managing Production Editor for the UC Davis, Journal of International Law and Policy.

Monica speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
