Mr. Pena’s business practice includes matters in the area of civil and commercial litigation, with an emphasis in commercial litigation as well as the defense of transportation companies. Mr. Pena has over 20 years of experience representing his clients in both state and federal court, including matters of business practices, partnership disputes, financial disputes, and issues arising out of the formation, organization and structuring of business entities such as limited liability companies, corporations, partnerships and joint ventures.
Professional Background
Mr. Pena is a founding Managing Partner of Pena Garcia & Diz. Previously he was an Equity Partner in the Miami office of Hinshaw & Culbertson, where he represented corporate clients in matters involving civil and commercial litigation, and participation in various forms of alternative dispute resolutions.
In 2010 Mr. Pena was named as one of Florida Trend magazine's "Florida Legal Elite" in the area of civil trial law. Florida Legal Elite is composed of the top 1.8 percent of all Florida lawyers.
Mr. Pena is a former adjunct professor at Florida International University where he taught courses at the School of Policy and Management. He served as the 2007, 2008 President of the Dade County Defense Bar Association and is a former member of the Association's Steering Committee. (“DCDBA”)
